A small carpenter bee decided to hitch a ride on me while we were out working in the yard. David picked him up and relocated him (after taking a picture of course!)
Our ferns have started to emerge in the backyard. Hopefully we can clear out their invasive neighbors for them this year. That wintercreeper has to go!
Our front yard has turned into a construction zone as the city puts in a new sidewalk on our street. We are excited about the sidewalk but not as excited about keeping workers from crushing new plants as they sprout this spring.
The magnolia is in full bloom and beautiful. We are just hoping the strong storms hold off for a while. It is always a sad day when the magnolia or the peonies lose their blooms to a thunderstorm.
Our progress on Mulch Mountain this year. Happy to report we have demolished it again this year! Although we only got about 3/4 of what we usually get due to some of the beds in the front yard being taken over by construction workers.
The Royal Catchfly is up. It was a tiny little guy last year and we're hoping for some major growth this season.
Our seedlings have started sprouting! We have planted over 8 different varieties of native plants and are hoping we get a good batch to add to the yard.
